I try to have empathy for others. I was once grabbing a quick lunch at a local ice cream/family friendly restaurant and watched the large group of patrons two tables down just give this waitress the most difficult time. They were rude and demanding but this woman kept her grace and professionalism.
Finishing up before these behemoths, I got my check and left her a 20 dollar tip (my bill was ten dollars) with a note saying "this is a tip for putting up with that family and keeping a professional demeanor."
